About Local Catch Network (University of Maine)
The Local Catch Network is a network of seafood harvesters, researchers, technical assistance providers, and community-based organizations engaged in direct producer-to-consumer seafood marketing across the United States and Canada. The purpose of the network is to build a values-based seafood supply chain through a thriving network of seafood businesses oriented towards local and direct seafood sales. Established in 2011, the network is made up of more than 500 people including 200 seafood producers based in 27 of the 30 coastal states in the country (and growing).
