Wallace Center at Winrock International

About Wallace Center at Winrock International
The Wallace Center at Winrock International develops partnerships, pilots new ideas, and advances solutions to strengthen communities through resilient farming and food systems. As a national nonprofit, Wallace works to scale up the supply and the positive environmental, social, and economic benefits of regional, sustainably produced food. Since its inception in 1983, the Center has aimed to catalyze systems-level change. Wallace focuses on building learning networks called Communities of Practice to cultivate relationships, build capacity, and spread creative solutions. It supports promising innovations by researching, documenting, and disseminating replicable models that use food as a lever to grow regional economies, support environmental sustainability, advance racial equity, and create connections within communities. Wallace scales these models nationally through technical assistance services, by distributing lessons broadly, and by connecting practitioners to each other, to funding, and to resources. The Center is driven by a commitment to its organizational values: honoring community knowledge and leadership; centering diversity, equity, and inclusion; fostering authentic partnerships and collaborations; and prioritizing local and regional economic solutions.
